WOCo is sad to announce that our Patron, Le marquis de Grailly died peacefully on Friday 4th June.

Jean and the Hopkins family first met one sunny afternoon at the Château de Panloy. He took us on a carriage ride and heard about embryonic plans to form an opera company in France to support emerging artists. He offered a joint enterprise which has resulted in a fruitful twelve-year collaboration with the château and the de Grailly family playing host to an annual WOCo production. Jean was delighted that the exceptional acoustics of the courtyard provided such a wonderful venue for the staging of the operas.

The WOCo family is thinking of all of Jean's family at this time including Chantal, la marquis de Grailly, and their children Alexandre and Albane.
