Megan Pound has provided professional mentoring to the WOCo Emerging Artists orchestral players since 2009. Megan has said,
"This has been a very exciting project to be involved in, and to be working alongside Emerging young artists at the start of their careers has been wonderful. It gives the musicians and singers a lovely team building experience. It's a great project to be a part of and very deserving of support."

Megan leads the orchestra, guiding players and seeing through the whole process of rehearsal through to performance. She helps build the confidence of the players and develops their abilities in playing together.

Megan has been the Leader of the Sterling String Quartet since 1986. Recitals include:

  • Conway Hall - Sunday Evening International Series
  • Royal Festival Hall - Quartet Now Playing
  • Norfolk and Norwich Festsival
  • Bridgenorth Festival
  • Tudor Hall, Barnet - Complete Beethoven Quartet Cycle

The Quartet released the first complete recording of Edmund Rubbra 4 String Quartets for Conifer Classics and featured on BBC Radio 3 Composer of the Week.

Her orchestral playing includes the Brounemouth Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet, BBC Concert Orchestra, English Sinfonia as well as Leading London City Ballet, Grange Park Opera, Goldberg Ensemble (co-Leader) and Pimlico Opera Tours.

We are so pleased that the orchestra will continue to benefit from Megan's wonderful experience and skills for the production of Gianni Schicchi on 5, 7 and 8 August.
